Biography

Martin
Logue is a graduate of both the Western Herbal Medicine and Traditional
Chinese Medicine (TCM) BSc (Hons) degrees at Middlesex University. The
Western Herbal Medicine course was the first of its kind in the world
and involved four years of academic study. As part of his course Martin
spent two years in clinical training at The Archway Clinic of Herbal
Medicine within the Whittington Hospital in North London. Once he graduated
and joined the National Institute of Medical Herbalists Martin was awarded
the Ernest Cockayne prize for the Brightest Character.
Martin
then continued his studies on the 5 year Traditional Chinese Medicine
degree course. This involved an in-depth study of Acupuncture and Chinese
Medicine in the treatment of disease. His clinical training was completed
at The Asante Clinic of Chinese Medicine and The Pain Clinic at the
Whittington Hospital over two years. Martin also completed rotations
in Cardiology, Dermatology, Neurology, Paediatrics, and on Respiratory
and Gynaecology wards at the Xiyuan and Sino-Japanese hospitals in Beijing.
This qualified him to receive a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine from Beijing
University.
Since
qualifying Martin has completed training in Japanese style Acupuncture
with Stephen Birch and Kiiko Matsumoto.
He
has worked, amongst other places, at the Church St GP practise in North
London, and the Core Trust, Paddington. He now practises at his own
clinics in Hertfordshire, Enfield and London.
Martin
is a member of the National Institute of Herbal Medicine (NIMH), the
Register of Chinese Medicine (RCHM) and the Association of Traditional
Chinese Medicine (ATCM). He is also a member of the NHS Directory of
Complementary and Alternative Practitioners. All of these organisations
require their members to be fully qualified and insured.
Martin
is actively involved in several research projects and he teaches and
lectures regularly on Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine to students within
Ireland and the UK. He has appeared as a guest on the BBC Radio 4 programme
“Outlook” and he features regularly on the Justin Deeley
Show on BBC 3 Counties Radio.
